Share views with me freely, frankly: Bharati to officials

Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati today urged her ministry officials to express their opinions "without any fear and hesitation" and asked them to send their views directly to her through sealed envelopes.
During a meeting of the director-level officials of her ministry here, Bharati asked them to give their free and frank opinion on all issues.
According to a release here, "The minister sought free and frank opinion of officers on various issues such as delay in the construction of dams, new techniques of water conservation, steps to prevent pollution of Ganga, how to ensure e-flow of Ganga, pollution of Yamuna, fall in groundwater levels and relocation of extinct rivers."
She asked the officials to send their views directly to her in sealed envelopes , the release added.
Bharati told the officials that they have a rich depository of knowledge and experience which can be used for the successful implementation of various scheme and programmes.
The officials described the meeting as very encouraging, affectionate and unprecedented, the press release said, adding that they assured Bharati that they would try their best to fulfil her vision.
The meeting was also addressed by Additional Secretary Amarjeet Singh.
