Addressing the senior officials of India Tourism Development Coporation (ITDC) here, he said, "From now onwards, all efforts must be made to revive the ailing units/ hotels of ITDC which will require a major change in work culture."
He asked the employees to identify problems, draw up a time-frame to correct these and continuously monitor the progress.
ITDC, a subsidiary of Tourism Ministry, runs about 15 hotels across the country.
He said that disinvestment should be the last option to deal with the loss-making units.
He said that an entrepreneur's approach and vigorous marketing are required to take ITDC to new heights. "It is a sector which is capable of showing quick results and results must start pouring in by the next year," he added.
