Sharma invites suggestions to promote Indian culture abroad

Union minister Mahesh Sharma today asked the members of the Central Advisory Board on Culture (CABC) to suggest ways to spread the Indian culture all over the country as well as overseas.
After chairing the first meeting of the Central Advisory Board on Culture (CABC) here, Shrama said "The meeting was held to get the ideas and take them forward to spread our culture across the world".
Addressing the meeting, he stressed on the need to evolve a participatory process of decision making in the field of culture and invited suggestions from the eminent members on the way forward.
The members of the CABC were requested to highlight priority areas in the fields of art, music, dance and literature, an official release said.
CABC comprises senior officials of the Culture Ministry and its organisations and eminent personalities from the field of art and culture.
Some of the members were of the view that the local cultures and artists at the village and district level need to be galvanised so as to bring about a true cultural revival, it said.
The next CABC meeting has been scheduled for November 21, 2016 at Varanasi.
