Sharp fall in prices of select items

Prices of thoor and urad dal fell sharply while gram dal and wheat increased marginally on the opening day of the wholesale foodgrain market here.
Rest of the commodities ruled steady.
Thoor dal declined sharply by Rs 1,500 per quintal to Rs 14,000 from its Saturday's closing rate of Rs 15,500.
Urad dal was down by Rs 400 per quintal to Rs 15,000 from its previous rate of Rs 15,400.
Gram dal and wheat prices increased by Rs 100 per quintal each to Rs 6,400 and Rs 3,000 from its last closing rates of Rs 6,300 and Rs 2,900 respectively.
Moong dal (Rs 10,000), sugar (Rs 3,150), maida (90 kg) (Rs 2,500) and sooji (90 kg) (Rs 3,200) opened at their closing rates.
Following are the wholesale rates of various agri-commodities (rates in rupees per quintal, unless stated otherwise): Thoor Dal Rs 14,000, Urad Dal Rs 15,000, Moong Dal Rs 10,000, Gram Dal Rs 6,400, Sugar Rs 3,150, Wheat Rs.3,000 Maida (90 kg) Rs 2,500 and Sooji (90 kg) Rs 3,200.
