Shatabdi passenger's bag snatched

Gold jewellery and money belonging to a jeweller were snatched away today when he was travelling in New Jalpaiguri-Howrah Down Shatabdi Express at a place near Jamir Ghata station near Malda.
IC GRP Krishna Gopal Datta said, "Two persons took away the bag of the gold merchant when he was having breakfast in the train. The duo tricked him by asking that his bag has been lost when the train stopped at a signal before Jamir Ghata station."
"The moment he pointed his bag in the train, the duo took away the bag and ran away from the standing train at about 9.20 am," he said.

The police suspect that the duo followed him from Malda town where he boarded the train to go to Kolkata.
The gold merchant, who has a jewellery shop in Malda town, got down from the train at Farakka station and complained to the police.
