A magistrate's court today allowed former media baron Peter Mukerjea, arrested in connection with the Sheena Bora murder case, to get home food in Arthur Road prison here where he has been lodged.
"Permission is granted to provide home food to accused (Peter) in jail under proper supervision of jail superintendent," Magistrate R V Adone said while allowing the plea moved by Peter earlier this week through his lawyer Kushal Mor.
Peter had requested that he be allowed to get home food as he is a "senior citizen with heart ailments and is on medication to lower his cholesterol".
Apart from CBI, the jail officials had also opposed Peter's plea saying they can provide less spicy and less oily food for Peter.
Peter (59), husband of prime accused Indrani Mukerjea, was arrested on November 19 for his alleged role in the murder conspiracy and has been in CBI custody.
Indrani (43), her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and her ex-driver Shyamvar Rai were already chargesheeted in the case.

Peter has been kept at the high-security jail where Khanna and Rai are also lodged.
In 2012, Sheena (24), Indrani's daughter from previous relationship, was allegedly strangled in a car by Indrani and Khann, and her body was burnt and dumped in a forest in Raigad, about 84 kms from here.
CBI has maintained that the murder could be the fallout of some financial transactions.
Later Sheena called Raktim and said her mother had sent
her to Bangalore.
In an email sent to Raktim on August 26, 2009, Sheena said that Indrani tried to get her sacked from her job.
On April 24/25, 2012, she received a message from Sheena's mobile, saying she was breaking up with Rahul and had found someone else.
According to CBI, Indrani and others murdered Sheena on April 24, 2012 and disposed of her body in a forest in Raigad district of Maharashtra.
"Sheena also said she would be off Facebook for a while and she was changing her mobile number which she said she would be sharing with (Raktim) but warned her against sharing it with Rahul," Raktim told CBI.
Rahul called her to talk about Sheena's disappearance, and she too made efforts to trace her friend, Raktim said.
In August 2015, when Sheena's murder came to light, Raktim saw the news on TV.
"Since certain facts were not correct about relationship of Sheena with Indrani, next day I contacted some senior officers of Mumbai police and told about the actual relationship and the background," Raktim told CBI.
She also said she had never known Sheena to be taking any drugs or psychotropic substances, or losing her temper and becoming violent.
CBI's first charge sheet names Indrani, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and former driver Shyamvar Rai as murder accused.
