The officials of Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development had recently visited 'Unique Home' and during investigation found that it was being run without registration and it had also not kept records of the children.

The officials last night went to shift the inmates to the Nari Niketan, but the attempt was resisted by the trustees, District Magistrate Priyank Bharti said.

"After an information that the home was being run without registration, we sent officials to shift the children to the Nari Niketan, but the attempt was resisted by its trustees," Bharti said.

She said officials have been deputed at the Home, where mostly girls live, and further action will be taken once its owner, who has gone to Dalhousie with some children, return.

When contacted, one of the trustees, Naunihal Singh said that they had already applied for the registration and it was under process.

"All the children residing here are safe, and therefore there is no need for shifting them," Singh said.
