MP Raju Shetti led the agitation today outside the Maharashtra legislature.
The agitators distributed onions and tur for free to legislators and government officers.
"The government has ensured that prices of onion and tur crash. There are no clear instructions to the government officers at tur procurement centres; hence for any minor things the tur is not purchased for weeks. Such mindless implementation has added misery in the life of farmers," Shetti said.
"I have no doubts in government's capacity to handle the issue but their attitude towards farmers is not friendly," he said.
Shetti wore a garland of onions as a part of his
agitation.
The workers dumped onions and tur at the gate of the state legislature.
Police detained Shetti and his party workers.
