Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran is also likely to be present in the inauguration of the ICP built at a cost of Rs 73.5 crore, the foundation of which was laid by then Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in May 2011.
The Akhaura ICP, the first of its kind between India and Bangladesh would have modern terminal building for passage of people from the two countries, well equipped customs and immigration centres, high security equipments, weigh bridges, currency exchange and internet facility, banks etc.
