The book will give an account of the journey that Rhimes had and how saying 'yes' made an impact on her life.
The 45-year-old writer said she was initially reluctant to share her "embarrassing" story publicly, reported Ace Showbiz.
"Saying yes for an entire year turned out to be one of the most amazing decisions I have ever made. It was also a little insane, a lot terrifying and sometimes wildly embarrassing."
"So this is not a story I ever planned to share with anyone. However, once Simon & Schuster (publishers) asked me, I had no choice - what else could I say but yes?"
Rhimes is currently serving as the executive producer for new legal drama "How to Get Away with Murder", starring Viola Davis.
