Shopkeeper gets two years in jail for assaulting customer

A magistrate's court here today sentenced a shopkeeper to two years' rigorous imprisonment for beating up a customer who insisted on weighing oil before purchasing it.
Magistrate Nidhi Modita Pinto found the shopkeeper Yogesh guilty under the IPC section 325 (causing grievous hurt).
A prosecution officer said that a police complaint was filed on December 20, 2008 against Yogesh, who runs a grocery store in Hira Nagar area of the city. Yogesh was accused of hitting one Ravindra Kumar with a stick when the latter said that he would not buy oil from him unless it was properly weighed.
Kumar's wrist was fractured in the attack.
