"We were getting complaints of adulterated milk products. As demand of sweets increases during Raksha Bandhan festival the adulterated khoya and other milk products enters market to meet the rising demand," Chief Food Inspector, Ajay Kumar Jaiswal said today.

"A team of food inspectors has taken food samples from Sector 18 restaurants and sweet shops. Team will visit other markets too in the city. Even branded shops are not spared," Jaiswal said.

"As adulterated food can cause illness we have taken preventive measures to check the samples," he said.

"During last one week, food samples from over two dozen shops have been taken and sent to laboratories," Jaiswal said.
