The Assamese book 'Pratichchabi' (Reflection) has been published by Neelachal Prakashan.
"This is the age of women. We are seeing everywhere women rising and progressing. This is a very positive sign for the society," said Choudhury, who is a former Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University and a former Pro-VC of Tezpur University.
Talking about the book, the eminent educationist said the name 'Pratichchabi' itself says that the stories are reflection of society.
"Some of the stories dealt with issues like clash between vernacular and English medium schools and the feelings of a scientist working abroad. So these are some very important reflections of our society," Choudhury said.
Writer Bhattacharya later elaborated her experience and effort in bringing out the first compilation of short stories, which have already been published in various Assamese media.
