The centre has been set up as part of the ongoing project to integrate Ayush (Ayurveda) with National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS) by the Union Health Ministry, an official release said.
Stressing on urgent need to control diseases like cancer, blood pressure and diabetes, the Minister of State for AYUSH said, "Since treatment of these ailments is very expensive, families of the patients face acute financial crisis."
Gujarat is one of three states chosen by the Centre to implement this project, Rajya Sabha MP Shankar Vegad said.
