Shriram Rayons has received green clearance for capacity expansion of rayon tyre yarn cord and captive power generation at its Kota unit in Rajasthan, entailing a cost of Rs 163 crore.
Rayon tyre yarn cord is used as reinforcement material in high performance tyres. There are only four manufacturers of this product in the world, out of which two are in India.

Out of the total project cost, the company will earmark Rs 5.34 crore per annum towards capital cost and recurring cost for implementing environmental management plan.
The green clearance to the Rs 163-crore project has been given subject to certain conditions, the official said.
