Shriram Transport shares rise 6.5% after Q1 earnings

Shares of Shriram Transport Finance Company jumped 6.5 per cent on Thursday after the company reported nearly 11 per cent rise in its net profit for the first quarter ended June 30.

The company's scrip gained 6.46 per cent to close at Rs 986.10 on the BSE. During the day, it zoomed 9.51 per cent to Rs 1,014.45.

On the NSE, shares advanced 5.68 per cent to close at Rs 978.

In terms of the traded volume, 3.68 lakh shares were traded on the BSE and over one crore units on the NSE during the day.

NBFC firm Shriram Transport Finance Co Ltd on Wednesday reported nearly 11 per cent rise in its net profit to Rs 634.25 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.

The company's net profit in the corresponding April-June period of 2018-19 was at Rs 572.90 crore.

Total revenue of the company rose to Rs 4,053.85 crore in the June quarter from Rs 3,729.25 crore a year ago, it said in a regulatory filing.
