Shuffling in Home Department

Tamil Nadu government today effected shuffling of senior IPS officials, bringing back former Chennai Police Commissioner T K Rajendran among others, who were transferred on the directives of Election Commission ahead of the May 16 assembly polls.
Rajendran, DGP and IG prisons, was back as Chennai Police Commissioner replacing Ashutosh Shukla. S George, DGP and Chairman of Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board will hold additional charge as IG prison, a Home Department Communication said.
Shukla has been transferred and posted as ADGP Enforcement in place of J K Tripthy, it said.
Tripathy is back as ADGP, Law and Order vice C Shyldendra Babu.
Rajendran and Tripathy were transferred on the directions of the Election Commission following complaints from DMK.
Babu was transfered and posted as ADGP, Coastal Security group.

Further, K N Sathyamurthy, IGP, was transferred as IGP, Intelligence.
Bandi Gangadhar, SP Dharmapuri, will hold additional charge of SP Krishnagiri vice Thirunavakkarasu, who has been transferred.
