Siddharth Kaul declared best emerging cricketer at PCA meet

Medium pacer Siddharth Kaul was declared as 'Best Emerging Cricketer' at an Annual General Meeting organized by the Punjab Cricket Association here today.
Kaul was declared as best cricketer for his haul of 68 wickets (across all formats) during the season. He, however, was not present today as he is away with the India-A team.
In the women's category, Harmanpreet Kaur of Moga was honoured for being the first Punjab women cricketer to captain India Women team against Bangladesh, this was informed by PCA Secretary, M P Pandove.
The 65th AGM was held under the Presidentship of I S Bindra while Viswajeet Khanna, treasurer read out the salient features of the audited balance sheet of the Association as on March 31, 2013 and income and expenditure account for the year 2012-2013, which was duly approved by the House.
After this, the House unanimously elected its Executive Committee for the year 2013-14.
The PCA also honoured two veteran cricketers for their outstanding contribution of the game that included Chaman Lal Malhotra, presently Chairman of Punjab Senior Selection Committee who had represented the state from 1952-1971.
He was honoured by Bindra with a shawl and a cash prize of Rs 51,000 while other veteran to be honoured was Swaranjit Singh Bhatt, who played cricket between 1952-1962. He, however, was not present at the function today because of ill health.
Pandove presented the best district award of Rs 5,00,000 to Chandigarh Cricket Association. Meanwhile, the AGM was followed by the first Executive meeting of the newly constituted committee.
