"He is not a child. He can defend himself. He said what he said. Twitter is a global forum and he has been tweeting for a while and he has his set of followers," Mallya senior told NDTV when asked whether his son's tweets were appropriate.

Seeking to question the character of the woman Zohal Hamid, Sidhartha had tweeted," "She was all over me last night and asked for my BBM (Blackberry Messenger) pin, so if he was her fiance, she wasn't exactly behaving like a future wife."

Asked whether he had a chance to speak to Luke Pomersbach, Mallya senior said, "No I haven't. This could have been probably one of the late night brawls. But we at RCB has always said that law should take its own course."

Mallya also feels that the recent sting operation, the brawl at Wankhede involving Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and this Pomersbach episode won't affect the brand IPL.

"Absolutely not. All sorts of incidents happen. There are doping incidents in Olympics. There are brawls galore in football matches in European leagues which continue to be extremely popular. For me, Chris Gayle's innings was a spectacular one."

Mallya, however, made it clear that Pomersbach won't play till the investigations are on.
