Wife of Navjot Singh Sidhu, the sitting BJP Amritsar MP whose seat has been given to senior party leader Arun Jaitley this time, today met party workers and asked them to work hard for Jaitley's campaign.
Navjot Kaur, who is BJP MLA from Amritsar East, held a series of meetings at various municipal wards in her assembly segment to mobilise BJP workers to secure maximum votes in favour of Jaitley.
Kaur also campaigned for Jaitley in her assembly.
"My husband's matter is a different issue. I will work for the party candidate," she said.
She was also seen at a road show of Arun Jaitely held in the city a few days back.
Kaur has earlier said that her husband would not participate in Jaitley's campaign.

"Sidhu will not come in Amritsar to campaign for Arun Jaitely. Why should he come? Akalis had created problems for him and managed the ticket for Jaitley. If Sidhu comes to the city for election campaign, Akalis may create a scene," Kaur had told media persons last Friday.
Three-time MP Sidhu, who is also a cricket commentator, is currently in Bangladesh for the T20 World Cup.
When Jaitley's candidature was announced, Sidhu had said that the senior leader was his "guru" and he would accept whatever the party had decided. He, however, made it clear that he would not contest from anywhere else.
Meanwhile, Arun Jaitely's wife Sangeeta Jaitly today addressed a rally at a slum area Hindustan Basti here.
