Former Minority Commission chairman Tarlochan Singh today called upon all the Sikh MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to form a 'Sikh Forum' to fight issues related to Sikh community.
"There is a need of hour for all of Sikh MPs cutting across the party lines to come and join on one platform to fight for the Sikh issues", Singh who was also former MP of Rajya Sabha said at the sidelines of a conference.
The issues related to Sikhs and Punjab were common for all the political parties and why not we have more strength for fighting their problems, he said.
For the acquittal of Congress leader Sajjan Kumar by a Delhi court in charges of 1984 anti-Sikh riots, Singh said that it was very unfortunate and it was the failure of the investigating agencies.
Asked about the withdrawal of wealth Tax on farmland in Punjab by Union finance minister, he said that it was the pressure built by SAD-BJP government which forced UPA government to withdraw it.
For BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, former Rajya sabha MP said the party had already paid the cost by announcing L K Advani as its candidate in 2009 and now the party has been taking this issue very carefully.
On post poll alliance, he said that it was imminent and no major party including Congress and BJP would come into power of its own, adding it would get support of other parties even after the elections.
