A Silk Air flight, travelling from Singapore to Kathmandu, made an unscheduled stop-over at the N S C Bose International Airport here this afternoon after the aircraft ran out of fuel.
An airport official said the flight of Silk Air Private Limited, with 158 air passengers on board, had to land at short notice as the aircraft ran out of fuel at around 2 pm and the pilot informed the ATC.
The plane landed with full emergency measures in place at the airport as the passengers disembarked, the official said.
Some passengers, who were visibly agitated for the delay in the flight, however, claimed that they were told by the flight attendants about bad weather conditions in Kathmandu.
However, this could not be corroborated from the airlines or airport authorities.
The aircraft finally left at 3 pm, the official said.
