Tracking a firm trend overseas, silver prices were up by 0.18% to Rs 39,150 per kg in futures trading today as traders built up fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July rose by Rs 71 or 0.18% to Rs 39,150 per kg in a business turnover of 13,872 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month September was trading higher by Rs 58 or 0.15% to Rs 39,822 per kg in 781 lots.
Meanwhile, silver rose 0.31% to $16.44 an ounce in New York yesterday.
