At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March 2017 was up by Rs 124, or 0.31 per cent, to Rs 39,745 per kg, in a business turnover of 457 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month May traded higher by Rs 108, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 40,404 per kg in seven lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in silver prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the precious metal overseas as weakness in the dollar contributing to the gains.
