Silver futures climb Rs 375 on global cues
Press Trust of India New Delhi Tracking rally in global market, silver prices spurted Rs 375 to Rs 35,902 per kg in futures trade today, as participants created huge speculative position.
Silver for delivery in September was trading sharply higher by Rs 375, or 1.06 per cent at Rs 35,902 per kg in a business turnover of 1,061 lots at the Multi Commodity Exchange.
Also, the white metal for delivery in far-month December soared Rs 376, or 1.04 per cent to Rs 36,680 per kg in 52 lots.
In the international market, silver added 0.2 per cent to USD 15.35 an ounce in Singapore after surging 3 per cent in yesterday's trade.
Market analysts said a firming trend in global market as prospects dimmed for a US interest rate increase in September, boosting the precious metals' allure and weakened dollar, mainly influenced silver futures here.
