Silver futures down 0.28 pc on global cues
Press Trust of India New Delhi Silver prices fell by 0.28 per cent to Rs 45,712 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, taking weak cues from the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May traded lower by Rs 128, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 45,712 per kg in business turnover of 11,081 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month July declined by Rs 133, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 46,620 per kg in business volume of 133 lots.
In the international market, silver traded 0.60 per cent lower at USD 20.69 an ounce in London.
Analysts said a subdued trend in the global markets on speculation the US Federal Reserve will continue cutting stimulus as the economy strengthens, curbing demand for the precious metals as a safe-haven, led to fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
