Silver futures fall 0.28% on weak overseas cues
Press Trust of India New Delhi Silver prices fell by 0.28 per cent to Rs 35,971 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their exposure amid a weak trend in global markets.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December traded lower by Rs 101, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 35,971 per kg in a business turnover of 159 lots.
Similarly, the metal for delivery in far-month March declined by Rs 102, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 36,695 per kg in a business volume of three lots.
In the international market, silver fell 0.2 per cent to USD 15.08 an ounce in Singapore.
Analysts attributed the fall in silver in futures trade to a weak trajectory in global markets after the US Federal Reserve chief Janet Yellen said the American central bank is on track to raise interest rates this year.
