Silver futures fall 0.91 pc on reduced offtake, global cues

Silver prices fell further by 0.91 per cent to Rs 37,297 per kg in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions amid a weak trend overseas.
Weak trend at domestic spot markets also weighed on silver prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in May month fell by Rs 344, or 0.91 per cent to Rs 37,297 per kg in business turnover of 63 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in March contract moved down by Rs 328, or 0.89 per cent to Rs 36,626 per kg in 8,287 lots.
Analysts said besides subdued demand at domestic spot markets, a weak trend overseas, mainly kept pressure on silver prices at futures trade.
Globally, silver fell 0.67 pc to USD 16.27 an ounce in London.
