Silver prices fell sharply by Rs 515 to Rs 37,415 per kg in futures trade today due to profit-booking by speculators amid a weak trend overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March traded lower by Rs 515, or 1.36%, to Rs 37,415 per kg in a business turnover of 1,452 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 469, or 1.22%, to Rs 38,096 per kg in a business volume of 13 lots.
Market analysts said apart from the profit-booking by participants, a weak trend in global markets led to the fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
