Silver prices on Wednesday eased by Rs 72 to Rs 44,790 per kg in futures trade as investors trimmed their positions amid weak trend in spot market.
Silver for December delivery traded lower by Rs 72, or 0.16 per cent, at Rs 44,790 per kg in a business turnover of 3,163 lots on the Multi Commodity Exchange.
Similarly, the white metal for March delivery fell by Rs 94, or 0.21 per cent, to Rs 45,425 per kg in a business turnover of 172 lots.
In the international market, silver traded 0.01 per cent higher at USD 17.12 an ounce in New York.
Analysts said muted demand and trimming of positions by speculators weighed on silver futures here.
