Silver prices rose 0.23% to Rs 38,575 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions even as the metal strengthened overseas.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 87, or 0.23%, to Rs 38,575 per kg in a business turnover of 846 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in March traded higher by Rs 62, or 0.16%, at Rs 39,193 per kg in a turnover of 10 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators helped silver futures to trade higher but a weak trend overseas capped the rise.
