Silver futures remain up on firm global cues

Rising for the second day, silver prices gained another 0.47 per cent to Rs 41,420 per kg in futures trading today as participants enlarged positions amid firming trend in global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in July month rose by Rs 193, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 41,420 per kg in business turnover of 7,023 lots.
Similarly, the white metal for delivery in far-month September contracts traded higher by Rs 195, or 0.47 per cent to Rs 41,969 per kg in 149 lots.
Marketmen said increasing their bets by traders on the back of firming trend in global markets, mainly kept silver prices higher at futures trade here.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.06 per cent to USD 17.32 an ounce in London.
