At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December moved up by Rs 235, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 34,710 per kg in a business turnover of 279 lots.
The white metal for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 203, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 33,905 per kg in 9,033 lots.
Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators, taking positive cues from overseas markets mainly led to rise in silver prices in futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver was 0.2 per cent higher at USD 14.70 an ounce in Singapore.
