Silver prices edged higher by 0.32% to Rs 45,895 per kg in futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions amid a firm global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in far-month December gained Rs 147, or 0.32%, to Rs 45,895 per kg in a business turnover of 11 lots.
Likewise, the white metal for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 136, or 0.31%, to Rs 45,070 per kg in 478 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators, buoyed by a firm global trend, influenced prices of the precious metal at futures trade.
Meanwhile, silver rose by 0.10% to $20.89 an ounce in Singapore.
