At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March rose by Rs 105, or 0.27 per cent, to Rs 39,154 per kg in business turnover of 329 lots.
The metal for delivery in far-month May was trading flat at Rs 39,725 per kg in 2 lots.
Analysts said the rise in silver prices at futures trade was mostly attributed to building up of positions by participants but closure of global markets, capped the gains.
