Sindhu eyes title defence at Macau Open

Teen sensation P V Sindhu will look to shrug off the disappointment of her second round loss at Hong Kong when she starts her title defence in the women's singles competition of the USD 120,000 Macau Grand Prix Gold, which begins here tomorrow.
Nine Indian shuttlers, including two-time world championship bronze medallist P V Sindhu, will look to put their best foot forward when they take the court at Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion.
World No. 10 Sindhu, who is seeded second, will take on Chinese Taipei's Hung Shih Han on Wednesday, while her colleague P C Thulasi will meet another Chinese Taipei shuttler Hsu Ya Ching in the opening round.
19-year-old Sindhu had retained her bronze medal at the BWF world championship at Copenhagen in August this year.
In men's singles, Dutch Open champion Ajay Jayaram will face Japan's Kazumasa Sakai, while H S Prannoy, who had clinched his maiden title winning the USD 1,25,000 Indonesian Masters Grand Prix Gold in September, will lock horns with Shih Kuei Chun of Chinese Taipei.
Seventh seed Sourabh Varma will square off with Chinese Taipei's Yang Chih Chieh, while German Open winner Arvind Bhat will face a Qualifier.
Eighth seed B Sai Praneeth will open his campaign against Woon Kok Hong of Malaysia.
Indian combination of Akshay Dewalkar and Pranaav Jerry Chopra will take on Korean pair of Sol Kyu Choi and Kang Ji Wook in the men's doubles event.
