Haja Fakkurudeen Usman Ali (37), who took Singaporen citizenship in 2008, left the country last November on an alleged trip to fight against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime, the Ministry of Home Affairs said here yesterday.
A member of the public had informed the authorities of the alleged trip made by Haja, after he had already left the Singapore. He worked as a supermarket manager here, according to a report by The Sunday Times today.
Gul, 37, was a Singapore permanent resident and has worked as a system analyst here.
The ministry has not revealed the time of investigation and deportation of Gul when asked by the newspaper.
