Former Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob, Indian-origin businessman Mohamed Salleh Marican and Farid Khan Kaim Khan are bidding to qualify for the election.
If there is only one eligible candidate, he or she will be declared as the President on Nomination Day.
If elected, Halimah will be the Singapore's first woman President.
Singaporeans will vote for their eighth President on September 23. The winner will be the second Malay president in Singapore's history, and the first to be chosen in a presidential election reserved for candidates of a specific community.

The Presidential elections Committee will screen all presidential hopefuls and inform them of the decision on September 12.
Candidates must apply for a certificate of eligibility, as well as a community certificate confirming they belong to the Malay community.
So far, three people of Malay origins have thrown their hat in the ring.
