Singareni Collieries Company Limited, a state-owned coal mining company, is expected to increase its production to two lakh tonnes per day from the current level of 1.5 to 1.6 lakh tonnes.
SCCL chairman and managing director N. Sridhar has instructed all directors and area general managers to put in all possible efforts to produce and supply sufficient coal stocks to cater to the needs of thermal power stations which are in peak power generation this season, the company stated in a release.
The CMD today reviewed the coal production and dispatches with all directors and area general managers at Singareni Bhavan here.
"Keeping in view the huge demand from consumers and annual targets fixed, company has to produce at least two lakh tonnes of coal a day and dispatch the same to consumers," the release quoted the CMD as saying.
He also directed all area authorities to take suitable precautionary steps during rainy season, so that the normal daily production and dispatches are not hampered by rains.
