Keeping up the offensive, the AAP today made a stinging attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over demonetisation accusing him of shedding "crocodile tears" over peoples' plight and wondered how terrorists were getting hold of new currency notes.
Demanding roll back of the demonetisation decision, AAP workers, led Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, tried to carry out a protest march towards Parliament from Jantar Mantar but were stopped by police.
Delhi Cabinet ministers Gopal Rai, Kapil Mishra and Satyendar Jain besides scores of party MLAs and leaders also participated in the march. Sisodia and Mishra were detained and released after an hour.
In his brief address at the protest site, Sisodia called demonetisation a "huge scam" and alleged it has neither helped in stopping counterfeiting currency nor it stopped terror funding.
"This is not 'notebandi' but 'note-badli'. Terrorists in Kashmir today were found with Rs 2,000 notes. From where are the terrorists getting these new notes? Either you (Modi) are unaware of the lapse or you are not interested in taking action against those responsible for it," he said.
Referring to Modi getting emotional during his speech in Goa recently while talking about ban on high-value notes, the senior AAP leader said, "He keeps crying all the time and makes people cry. He sheds crocodile tears. The PM who cries on stage is weakening the country.
"The people of the country don't seek the PM's tears, but a decision from him to rollback demonetisation. This is what people want," Sisodia said.

A letter written to the people by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is in Punjab, was distributed at the protest site.
"Neither terrorist funding nor counterfeit notes and blackmarketeering have stopped. The government says it has no money to grant OROP to soldiers but waives the loans of industrialists," Sisodia added, noting that his party stands with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on this issue.
A day after Kejriwal exhorted people to "change" the Prime Minister instead of the defunct notes, slogans of "note nahi, PM badlo" were raised at the march.
"The PM again became emotional... He is not getting any support. Hence, he is crying. The need is to take the fight to the streets," Rai said.
Taking a jibe at Modi, Delhi Culture Minister Mishra said, "There used to be Shah Rangeela (Mughal emperor from 1719 to 1748) in Delhi who used to give weird 'firmans' (orders). Today, we have another Shah Rangeela here in Narendra Modi."
The Delhi water minister said ever since the decision on demonetisation was taken, labourers are fleeing Delhi.
