In a letter written to Khattar, Sirsa said he was shocked to know that chapters on Guru Tegh Bahadur have been excluded from school syllabus of the Haryana School Education Board.
He said it has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community as the Guru sacrificed his life to save Kashmiri Pandits.
Sirsa said it was unfortunate that the decision has come at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered the NCERT and other education boards to include chapters on 'Chaar Sahibzade' - Guru Gobind Singh's four sons - in the syllabus.
Sirsa also urged him to include a chapter on Baba Banda Singh Bahadur in the education syllabus.
Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was the first sovereign ruler of northern India who fought against the Mughals.
