In a bid to woo voters and collect funds for the Delhi Assembly elections, AAP leader Manish Sisodia has asked people of Patparganj constituency to donate money in return for a meeting with him.
The party sources said the initiative will not only help in collecting donations, but will also establish direct contact with voters.
According to a party volunteer, a recorded call with Sisodia's voice is being made to people urging them to donate money for clean politics.
A message is followed by the call which reads, "I need donations to contest Delhi election. Pls support for clean politics. To contribute SMS me ur name_add @8588833457. Ill come & meet u Manish Sisodia, AAP."
The volunteer said that so far they have received response from some 1,000 people.
"We will later segregate people as per areas. Manish will then visit them to accept donations. This will also help in establishing direct contact with people and understand their problems," he said.
Sisodia, who had been elected as MLA from Patparganj constituency in the 2013 Delhi Assembly polls, is contesting the upcoming elections from the same seat.
To collect funds, the party and its candidates have been holding meals with party Chief Arvind Kejriwal, which has been getting a decent response.
