Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has directed the senior Delhi government officials to meet the public every day to listen to their grievances and redress them.
The government today issued the direction, according to which all the Principal Secretaries, Secretaries and head of departments would remain available for public hearing between 12 noon to 1pm on weekdays, except on Wednesday.
The Deputy Chief Minister also suggested the officers to keep the public hearing (Janta Samvad) on top priority and not to avoid it.
"He said that even if the chief minister or deputy chief minister or any other minister calls the officers during the said period, they must not leave the meeting on their second in command, but try to reschedule the meeting with the CM or deputy chief minister," senior government official said.
In case, the Principal Secretary or Secretary were not available, then the senior-most officer will hold the public meeting, it said.
In the meeting, officials have been asked to maintain a record of all the complainants registering their grievances during the public hearing and integret it with the public grievance system to ensure action is taken on them.
