Sisodia inaugurates garden tourism festival

A three-day day garden tourism festival showcasing Delhi's horticultural varieties was inaugurated at the garden of five senses in Said-ul-Ajaib area here today.
An official said this festival has been organised for the last 28 years in the spring season every year, adding that the underlying theme this year is "Garden for Environment & Health".
According to the official, garden of five senses was filled with fragrance and aroma of nature, thousands of blooming flowers, hundred kinds of bougainvilleas and hundred kinds of bonsai plants were seen adding to beauty to the nature.
Inaugurating the festival, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the practice of gardening plays a pivotal role in enhancing relationship among communities.
He also released a souvenir with details of the festival of the seasonal flowers on this occasion.
He stressed upon the need for hosting more such festivals and on a much larger scale in order to set examples for a sustainable urbanized city.
