SIT releases footage of suspect involved in Haryana blasts

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted to probe cases of explosions in Panipat and Kurukshetra districts in Haryana has released video footage of an unidentified man suspected of being involved in three bomb blasts in Panipat and Pipli.
In the footage released, the suspect is seen with his face covered and wearing jeans and a blue striped shirt. He is also seen carrying a yellow bag, suspected to contain the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) which was later detonated on board a Haryana Roadways bus at Pipli on May 26, an official spokesman said today.
The SIT has also appealed to the people to come forward to help identify the person.
The Haryana government has already announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to identification and arrest of those involved in the basts.
The spokesman said the SIT had collected CCTV footage from different places in Sonepat and Panipat districts.
The spokesman said the Additional Director General of Police (Crime) has directed all district Superintendents of Police (SPs) to increase checking at railway stations, bus stands and other crowded places including malls, markets, cinema halls and religious places and take all effective steps to prevent any such incident.
Three blasts have been reported in Haryana in 2016. The first two occurred in stationary trains at Panipat railway station on January 15 and May 12 and the third one took place in a moving Haryana Roadways bus at Pipli on May 26.
The state government had constituted the SIT, headed by ADGP, Crime and comprising IGP, Karnal Range, IGP, Rohtak Range, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sonipat, SP, Kurukshetra, SP, Railways, SP, Panipat, SP, Crime and SP, CID to probe these blasts.
