A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted to probe into the killing of a private coal mining company official who was shot dead by unidentified miscreants on Thursday, police today said.
Muthukuru Malikarjun, project head of BGR company, was shot dead by unidentified miscreants late on Thursday night. Miscreants fired two bullets targeting Malikarjun at his residence in Central Saunda officers colony under the jurisdiction of Bhurkunda police station.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), (North Chhotanagpur Division), Pankaj Kamboj told PTI that the SIT will probe into the incident since not much headway was made in the case.
He said additional security forces will be deployed in New Birsa mine under Barka-sayal area of Central Coalfields Ltd (CCL), a subsidiary of the State-owned Coal India Ltd, to restart coal output which has been stalled following the incident.
CCL had outsourced work to the Hyderabad-based BGR company.
