Situation improves in Sikar

Situation has improved in Sikar district of Rajasthan where members of two communities clashed over a minor issue even as the mobile internet services remained suspended today.
Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of CrPC were imposed and mobile internet services were suspended in the district yesterday.
The markets reopened today and no untoward incident occurred, police said.
Senior administration and police officials took rounds of the city and held talks with locals.
Two groups clashed with each other during Gangaur procession on Thursday night that led to stone-pelting which had left one policeman injured.
Police have arrested nearly two dozen people of both the groups involved in scuffling and stone-pelting.

In a meeting Divisional Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh, IG Hemant Priyadarshi reviewed the law and order situation and gave necessary directions to the officials.
