Situation in Kashmir grim: Mirwaiz to envoys

Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today asked diplomats based in India to use their influence to end "human rights violations" in Kashmir.
In a letter to various ambassadors, he claimed the situation in Kashmir is "grim and greatly worrisome".
The Hurriyat chairman said the situation in Kashmir is turning more and more "volatile" with each passing day.
He mentioned the recent killings in firing by security forces in Shopian district and Gool area in Ramban district to support his claim.
