As of today, ten cases have been found positive all over the state and out of them, two deaths have occurred in Jorhat district, a government release said here.
Of the two deaths, one person died at a private nursing home and the other on way to hospital, it said.
The Nodal Officer informed that all district hospitals were fully prepared with isolation wards to keep the suspected cases and all medical colleges were kept ready with ICU facilities to treat any cases of influenza H1N1.
Meanwhile, in Jorhat district where swine flu virus has claimed one life and five have tested positive, the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (Jorhat unit) today staged a sit-in and shouted slogans in front of the office of Joint Director, Health demanding proper measures and awareness to prevent spread of the disease and submitted a memorandum to the state Health minister.
