Six arrested for poaching peacocks

Six persons have been arrested on charges of poaching peacocks and peahens at Chennamanaiyakanpatti near here, officials said today.
A country gun, carcasses of four peacocks and a peahen were among the items seized from them last night, they said.
A case has been registered against them for keeping a country gun without licence.The forest department also registered a case for poaching the birds, officials added.
